Paying our supply staff

Our supply staff is paid weekly by our own in-house Payroll team using the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) method;  This means that all Income Tax and National Insurance contributions are automatically taken from your weekly salary and transmitted to HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenues and Customs). We are required by law to do so in order to fully comply with the Government’s IR35 laws. The amount you pay is determined by your tax code, which is assigned by HMRC.

Your payslips
Your money for the previous week will be sent into your account on Friday (or Thursday if Friday is a bank holiday), subject to the schools confirming your timesheets online. When a payslip is ready, you will receive an email with a direct link to your payslip on the Eezytime website. You will not be able to access your payslip until midnight on the day you get the email. Your holiday pay (which we factor into your daily rate), any deductions or changes, and your net and gross pay will all be listed on your payslip.

We will give you a statement known as a P60 at the conclusion of each tax year. The statement will reflect the total amount of money you were paid, how much tax was deducted, and how much net income you earned after this.

AWR

We are constantly trying to ensure that our teaching and support workers receive the greatest possible compensation. After 12 weeks of service in an equivalent permanent school function with the same hirer (the ‘hirer’ being the school/academy), the Agency Workers’ Regulations (AWR) entitles agency workers to the same pay and other working conditions as the hirer’s own workers.

Following the 12-week term, you are entitled to the following benefits, as are the hirer’s own employees:

  • Pay (in the case of teachers, teaching assistants, and cover supervisors, this refers to the agency worker’s scale rate as set by the school’s pay policy as if they had been hired directly, NOT the employee they are covering).
  • Duration of working time.
  • Rest periods.

Furthermore, the regulations outline agency employees’ rights beginning on the first day of employment, such as access to job openings and on-site facilities.
